Das Motto der Controller Tagung Schweiz 2024 lautete: «Zeitenwende im Controlling: Die Transformation der Controlling-Organisation». Den Auftakt machte Marc Pouly, Professor für Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence an der Hochschule Luzern, mit einem inspirierenden Vortrag zu Entwicklungen, Trends und Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Künstlicher Intelligenz in Schweizer Unternehmen. Im zweiten Vortrag präsentierte Herbert Stauffer, Geschäftsführer von BARC Schweiz, die neuesten Analytics-Trends und beleuchtete die Chancen und Risiken von KI für die Finanzfunktion. Dabei stellte er auch konkrete Anwendungsfälle im Finanzbereich vor, insbesondere für Planung und Forecasting. Gleichzeitig betonte er, dass die Nutzung von KI neue rechtliche Anforderungen an Unternehmen stellt, etwa im Hinblick auf automatisierte Entscheidungsprozesse und die EU-weite KI-Verordnung (AI Act). Jörn Basel, Wirtschaftspsychologe an der Hochschule Luzern, erläuterte in seinem Vortrag die Bedeutung von Akzeptanz und Vertrauen für den Erfolg digitaler Innovationen. Er stellte etablierte Modelle und Einflussfaktoren vor, um die Mitarbeiterakzeptanz für technologische Neuerungen zu fördern. Die Dynamik und Unsicherheit im Unternehmensumfeld treiben den Einsatz agiler Methoden und Tools voran. Werner Wohlwend, Leiter Finance bei Gebr. KNIE, veranschaulichte anhand praktischer Beispiele die Umsetzung von Agile Finance. Der Nachmittag startete mit Franz Steiger, CFO der SBB und Mitglied der Konzernleitung, der das Thema «KI als Enabler für die Finanzabteilung der Zukunft» beleuchtete. Franz Steiger zeigte eindrucksvoll, wie bei der SBB die KI-Transformation im Finanzwesen vorangetrieben wird. Hierfür seien auch verstärkte Programmierkenntnisse im Controlling, wie etwa in Python, wichtig.
Basilius Scheidegger, Chef der Finanzverwaltung des Kantons Zürich, sprach über die Umstellung von einer dezentralen auf eine zentralisierte Controlling-Organisation. Diese Neuausrichtung bringt nicht nur Automatisierungspotenziale, sondern auch neue, moderne Rollenprofile im Controlling mit sich. In den anschliessenden Fokus-Sessions hatten die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer die Gelegenheit, sich über innovative Software-Lösungen und neue Controlling-Konzepte auszutauschen und inspirieren zu lassen. Das Abschlusswort übernahm Svenja Amrhein, pRED Finance Head bei Roche, mit dem Vortrag «Budget eats strategy for breakfast?». Sie gab wertvolle Anregungen für die aktuelle Budgetierungsphase. Die Zusammenfassung des Tages mit vielen inhaltlichen Impulsen gestaltete Imke Keimer von der Hochschule Luzern. The motto of the Controllig Conference Switzerland 2024 was: “A turning point in controlling: The transformation of the controlling organization.” Marc Pouly, Professor of Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, kicked off the event with an inspiring lecture on developments, trends and possible uses of Artificial Intelligence in Swiss companies. In the second lecture, Herbert Stauffer, Managing Director of BARC Switzerland, presented the latest analytics trends and highlighted the opportunities and risks of AI for the finance function. He also presented concrete use cases in the financial sector, especially for planning and forecasting. At the same time, he emphasized that the use of AI places new legal requirements on companies, for example with regard to automated decision-making processes and the EU-wide AI Regulation (AI Act). Jörn Basel, business psychologist at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, explained in his lecture the importance of acceptance and trust for the success of digital innovations. He presented established models and influencing factors to promote employee acceptance of technological innovations. The dynamics and uncertainty in the corporate environment are driving the use of agile methods and tools. Werner Wohlwend, Head of Finance at Gebr. KNIE, used practical examples to illustrate the implementation of Agile Finance. The afternoon began with Franz Steiger, CFO of SBB and member of the Executive Board, who discussed the topic of “AI as an enabler for the finance department of the future”. Franz Steiger impressively demonstrated how SBB is driving forward the AI transformation in finance. For this, increased programming skills in controlling, such as in Python, are also important.
Basilius Scheidegger, Head of the Financial Administration of the canton of Zurich, spoke about the transition from a decentralized to a centralized controlling organization. This realignment brings with it not only automation potential, but also new, modern role profiles in controlling. In the subsequent focus sessions, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and get inspired by innovative software solutions and new controlling concepts. Svenja Amrhein, pRED Finance Head at Roche, gave the closing speech with her presentation “Budget eats strategy for breakfast?”. She provided valuable suggestions for the current budgeting phase. Imke Keimer from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts summarized the day with many content-related impulses.
