Controlling & Nachhaltigkeit gemeinsam denken – dazu traf sich der ICV Fachkreis „Green Controlling for Responsible Business“ bei DATEV. Der Nürnberger IT-Dienstleister hatte eingeladen. Rund 20 der insgesamt 50 Controller, Nachhaltigkeitsmanager, Berater und Professoren des Fachkreises diskutierten die zukünftige Bedeutung ökologischer und sozialer Aspekte für die Unternehmenssteuerung und die Rolle der Controller:innen.
Gesamtfazit: Das Thema Nachhaltigkeit rückt stärker in die betriebswirtschaftlichen Kernprozesse vor – Finance/Controlling und Nachhaltigkeit wachsen enger zusammen. Das bestätigen auch die Ergebnisse der dritten Green Controlling Studie 2022, die der Fachkreis jüngst publizierte. Lt. Zur verantwortungsbewussten Unternehmenssteuerung „Responsible Business“ passt die Bedeutung des “ehrbaren Kaufmanns“, Mittelpunkt des nachhaltigen Engagements der IHK Nürnberg. Joachim Raschke, Leiter der Stabstelle “Ehrbarer Kaufmann | CSR”, lud zu einem Empfang und unterstrich den Bildungsauftrag der IHK. Die Weiterbildung zum „CSR-Manager/in“ hat sich zu einer Erfolgsstory (CSR-Manager (IHK) – www.csr-manager.info) entwickelt. Seit 2013 haben ihn rund 300 Teilnehmer besucht.
Mit Schleich-Figuren Kinder spielerisch an ökologische und soziale Themen heranführen, auch für die Firma Schleich® ist nachhaltige Bildung ein Herzensanliegen. Das führte Philipp Hummel, Head of Sustainabilty Schleich®, eindrucksvoll aus. Trotz der Langlebigkeit der Produkte stellt sich das Unternehmen der Herausforderung genutzte Schleich-Figuren wiederzubeleben. Give your schleich®-figurine a second life. Der Gastgeber, DATEV eG, sorgte für einen tollen Rahmen. Nach einer kurzen Vorstellung der Genossenschaft durch den Leiter Controlling, Matthias Bendel, vertiefte Claus Fesel, Leiter für Nachhaltigkeit, Umwelt & DATEV Stiftung Zukunft, die Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie und -ziele des Unternehmens (Über den Tellerrand – DATEV engagiert sich). Besonders beeindruckend fanden die Teilnehmer auch die modernen Arbeitswelten und Coworking-Spaces.
Die Nachhaltigkeitsrelevanz für die Unternehmenssteuerung nimmt richtig Fahrt auf. Daher hat sich der Fachkreis vorgenommen, gleich mehrere Themen und ihre Chancen für Controller:innen parallel zu bearbeiten. Die Schwerpunkte 2023 sind Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)/ European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), EU-Taxonomie, Nachhaltigkeit in KMUs und Integration von Nachhaltigkeit in Planung und Steuerung.
Der ICV Fachkreis „Green Controlling for Responsible Business“ freut sich bereits auf die nächste Präsenztagung und dankt dem Orga-Team von DATEV für die Gastfreundschaft.

Thinking controlling & sustainability together – this is why the ICV Expert Work Group “Green Controlling for Responsible Business” met at DATEV. The IT service provider from Nürnberg had invited. Around 20 of the 50 controllers, sustainability managers, consultants and professors of the Expert Work Group discussed the future importance of ecological and social aspects for corporate management and the role of controllers.
Overall conclusion: The topic of sustainability is moving more into the core business processes – finance/controlling and sustainability are growing closer together. This is also confirmed by the results of the third Green Controlling Study 2022, which the Expert Work Group recently published (so far in German). Lt. The “respectable business” fits the focus of the sustainable commitment of the Nürnberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Joachim Raschke, Head of the “ Ehrbarer Kaufmann | CSR” (English: Honorable Merchant | CSR) project, invited to a reception and underlined the educational mission of the Chamber. The further training to become a “CSR Manager” has developed into a success story (CSR-Manager – www.csr-manager.info). Around 300 participants have visited it since 2013.
Introducing children to ecological and social issues in a playful way with Schleich figures – sustainable education is also a matter of the heart for the company Schleich®. Philipp Hummel, Head of Sustainability Schleich®, explained this impressively. Despite the longevity of the products, the company faces the challenge of reviving used Schleich figures. The host, DATEV eG, provided a great framework. After a brief introduction to the cooperative by the Head of Controlling, Matthias Bendel, Claus Fesel, Head of Sustainability, Environment & DATEV Stiftung Zukunft (English: Foundation Future), went into more detail on the company’s sustainability strategy and goals (An Article about it (language: German): Über den Tellerrand – DATEV gets involved). The participants also found the modern working environments and co-working spaces particularly impressive.
The sustainability relevance for corporate management is really picking up speed. Therefore, the Expert Work Group has decided to work on several topics and their opportunities for controllers parallelly. The focus points in 2023 are Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)/ European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), EU taxonomy, sustainability in SMEs and integration of sustainability in planning and management.
The ICV Expert Work Group “Green Controlling for Responsible Business” is already looking forward to the next face-to-face conference and would like to thank the organizational team at DATEV for their hospitality.
