Noch bis zum 31. Januar (24:00 Uhr) haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihre Bewerbung um den ICV Controlling Excellence Award einzureichen. Nutzen Sie die Chance den renommierten Award zu gewinnen, Ihre mustergültige Controlling-Lösung der prominent besetzten Jury und im Falle der Nominierung der Controlling-Community vorzustellen!

Der ICV Controlling Excellence Award ging 2020 an BASF mit dem Projekt: „Predictive Analytics approach for financial forecasting on Operating Division level called PACE – Predictive Analytics Estimate“. Nominiert worden waren BASF sowie A1 Telekom Austria und Diginet GmbH & Co. KG. Der Preisträger 2020 habe mit seinem Projekt ein „hot topic“ behandelt, so die Jury in ihrer Begründung: „Forecasts spielen – und das auch schon vor der Pandemie – eine immer wichtigere Rolle in der Steuerung der Unternehmen – und verursachen im Controlling einen ganz erheblichen Aufwand“.

Diese Begründung macht deutlich, was die Jury unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Utz Schäffer (als Nachfolger von Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weber) unter der gefragten „vorbildlichen Controllerarbeit“ eigentlich versteht: Sie soll praxiserprobt anderen Controllern Anstöße für eine konkrete Verbesserung ihres Controllings geben können. Neue Wege soll sie aufzeigen UND das Controlling effizienter und/oder effektiver machen; sowohl nach Meinung der Controller, als auch der Manager.

Im kommenden März nominiert die Jury 3 Kandidaten und macht diese Auswahl öffentlich. Wer schließlich den Award gewinnt, wird auf Europas größter Controlling-Fachtagung, auf dem 45. Congress der Controller (26./27. April 2021), verraten: Hier bekommt der Preisträger seine verdiente „große Bühne“. Der Congress findet dieses Jahr auf jeden Fall statt und ist als hybride Veranstaltung geplant: Präsenz- wie Online-Teilnahmen werden möglich sein. Informieren Sie sich und melden Sie sich jetzt an!

The ICV Controlling Excellence Award 2020 went to BASF with the project: “Predictive Analytics approach for financial forecasting on Operating Division level called PACE – Predictive Analytics Estimate”. The Award winner 2020 dealt with a “hot topic” with their project, according to the Jury in its comment: “Forecasts have played – even before the pandemic – an increasingly important role in the management of companies – and that’s why cause much effort in controlling”.

This justification makes it clear what the Jury, headed by Prof. Dr. Utz Schäffer (as the successor to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weber) actually understands under the “exemplary controlling work”: It should be able to give other controllers impetus for a concrete improvement in their controlling in a tried and tested manner. It should show new ways AND make controlling more efficient and / or effective; both in the opinion of the controller and the manager.

In March the Jury will nominate 3 candidates and we will make this selection public. Who will finally win the Award will be revealed at the Europe’s largest controlling conference, at the 45th Congress of Controllers (April 26/27, 2021): This is where the Award winner gets their well-deserved “big stage”. The Congress will definitely take place this year and is planned as a hybrid event: face-to-face and online participation will be possible. Find out more and register now!
