FINANCE CFO Panel zu Folgen des Coronavirus: Controlling ganz vorne FINANCE CFO Panel on coronavirus consequences: Controlling at the Forefront

A recently published first results report from the latest FINANCE CFO panel describes how the focus of work is shifting in the face of the coronacrisis and what is concerning the CFOs. As finance-magazin.de reports, the FINANCE editorial team, in cooperation with Horváth & Partners, interviewed financial managers in Germany. More than 80 CFOs were surveyed between March 9 and 25.

In the meantime, the situation has escalated significantly in many areas. Kai Grönke, partner in the Competence Center Controlling & Finance at Horváth & Partners, is quoted as saying: “For many companies, the coronacrisis is a threat to their existence.”

The Panel survey shown that the fight against the economic consequences of the corona pandemic is also changing the top priorities of the chief financial officers in everyday work. 38% of the participants are now counting risk management among their three most important topics – more than twice as many as in autumn (17%). However, controlling is most often found in the top 3 of the financial chiefs, almost 41% of them include it in their top 3. Financing structure (38%) and cost management (37%) are also highly prioritized – “all areas that come into focus regularly in times of crisis”.
