ICV Online-Seminar am 8. März: Mach’ dich stark für equal pay! The ICV online seminar on March 8: make yourself strong for equal pay!

  • Gender Pay Gap – Berechnung, Ursachen, europäischer Vergleich
  • Equal Pay Day – ein symbolischer Tag für Entgeltgleichheit
  • Gehaltsverhandlungen und die Stolperfallen
  • Partnerschaftliche Aufteilung von Care-Arbeit
  • Entgelttransparenzgesetz – Gehalttransparenz in Unternehmen

March 8 is International Women’s Day – gender equality is a special topic all over the world. On this day, the ICV invites you to a public ICV online seminar with Uta Zech, President of Business and Professional Women (BPW) Germany e.V. The seminar aims to raise awareness of gender equality and equal pay and provides impulses for what every listener can do to achieve it. You can register here – free of charge. The webinar is in German.

According to a brand new study by the Institute for Economic and Social Sciences (WSI) of the Hans Böckler Foundation on the effect of the corona crisis on the gender pay gap, working hours and the division of care work, apparent short-term progress in the gender pay gap may be accompanied by permanent deterioration in working hours of employed women. Although the corona crisis sometimes challenges working women and men the same way, they are also sometimes affected differently by the consequences of the pandemic. In some families the traditional distribution of unpaid childcare is solidified, but in others there are also new opportunities for a fairer distribution.

In her keynote speech, Uta Zech deals with these contents:

  • Gender Pay Gap – calculation, causes, European comparison
  • Equal Pay Day – a symbolic day for equal pay
  • Salary negotiations and the pitfalls
  • Sharing care work in partnership
  • Pay Transparency Act – Salary transparency in companies
  • Outlook to other countries and their measures

Uta Zech studied theater and German language and literature in Erlangen and Berlin, drama at the Ulm Theater and did apprenticeship as an advertising clerk in Berlin.
