Der Titel seines Vortrags lautet: “Digitalisierungs- und Datenplattformen: Der Weg, um Geschäftsmodelle genauso wie interne Prozesse neu zu denken”. Seine Empfehlung für Unternehmen ist darüber hinaus: “In einer immer dynamischer werdenden Welt hilft es nicht, „Krisenvermeidungsstrategien“ zu entwickeln, sondern nur „Krisenresilienz“ zu stärken. Bildlich gesprochen bedeutet das: Geben Sie Ihren Mitarbeitenden eine gut ausgestattete Werkstatt und einen flexiblen Werkzeugkasten an die Hand, damit sie agil, flexibel und nachhaltig die Herausforderungen angehen können. Im Kontext der Unternehmenssteuerung heißt das, eine Digitalisierungs- und Datenplattform aufzubauen, mit der unterschiedliche Front- und Backoffice-Prozesse digitaler, schneller und effizienter umgesetzt werden können”.
Der Referent hat nach seinem Studium zum Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur zunächst in der Unternehmensberatung Ernst & Young gestartet und ist mittlerweile seit rund neun Jahren bei KPMG beschäftigt. Sein Schwerpunkt ist die Unternehmenssteuerung. Er widmet sich diesem Thema inhaltlich – „Wie und wonach soll gesteuert werden?“ sowie technisch – „Welche IT Systeme und Daten- sowie Auswertungsstrukturen werden dafür benötigt?“. In seiner Position als Senior Manager zeichnet er für die Konsumgüterindustrie, Private Equity Immobilien Asset Management. Außerdem hat Samuel Potthoff neben seiner Tätigkeit bei KPMG Gründer einer Vermögensverwaltung, die in nachhaltige forstwirtschaftliche Geschäftsmodelle investiert.

The title of his lecture is: “Digitization and data platforms: The way to „rethink” business models as well as internal processes”. In addition, his recommendation for companies is: “In an increasingly dynamic world, it does not help to develop “crisis avoidance strategies”, but only to strengthen “crisis resilience”. Figuratively speaking, this means: Provide your employees with a well-equipped workshop and a flexible toolbox so that they can tackle challenges in an agile, flexible and sustainable manner. In the context of corporate management, this means building a digitization and data platform with which different front and back office processes can be implemented more digitally, faster and more efficiently”.
After graduating as an industrial engineer, the speaker first started at the management consultancy Ernst & Young and has now been employed at KPMG for around nine years. His focus is corporate management. He focuses on this topic – “How and what should be managed?” and technically – “Which IT systems and data and evaluation structures are required for this?”. In his position as senior manager he focues on the consumer goods industry, private equity real estate asset management. In addition to his work at KPMG, Samuel Potthoff has founded an asset management company that invests in sustainable forestry business models.
